The objective of Master of Planning is to prepare students for professional practice in the field of Planning. The course provides training and exposure to the students and helps them develop a deep insight in a variety of aspects related to the field of Planning.

Program Objectives

The Master of Urban Planning will help the students understand the complex and most fundamental concepts of Urban Planning. The programme has been carefully made to stimulate and nurture sensitivity and creativity amidst students thus making them highly capable professionals who can pursue highly rewarding careers in the field of planning in a drastically changing world.
By pursuing the Master of Urban Planning programme, the students will have the ability to integrate various aspects of planning such as – Area Planning/Sector Planning, Preparation of Master Plan etc. An Urban Planner is a professional who is responsible for using land planning in order to develop communities, physical facilities, and accommodate population growth in counties, cities, towns, and metropolitan areas.

Program Outcomes

The Master of Urban Planning will equip the students with the fundamental understanding about the various concepts of Urban Planning. It will also stimulate the sensitivity and unveil creative talents of the students, thus making them proficient to competently pursue careers in the field of plannning in a rapidly changing global context. They will develop the ability to integrate the many aspects – theoretical and practical – in the planning process. The major responsibilities of an Urban Planner include administration of government land programmes, conduct field investigation, review sites, analyze the data collected and propose required changes.

After doing M. Plan in Urban Planning depending upon your aptitude, interest and skill set, you can work in the following areas:

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum percentage and others criteria for admission will be as per UGC/ Concerned Regulatory Bodies.

Provided below are the criteria that need to be met for the given course.

For National Students

  • Bachelor Degree in Planning/ Architecture/ Civil Engineering OR Master Degree in Geography/ Economics/ Social Sciences or equivalent Degree.

For International Students

  • Rule framed by University Grants Commission (UGC) and notified in its website www.ugc.ac.in will be followed for deciding the eligibility and admission of International students to various courses offered in Om Sterling Global University, Hisar.
