- Horticulture: Students will have the basic knowledge and skills in horticulture. With practical experience, students will be familiar with a wide range of subject matter including plant identification, propagation, controlled environment production, horticulture information retrieval system, pruning, and lawn care, plants for interior uses, and fruits and vegetables
- Soil Science and Agriculture Chemistry: The main objective of this Division is to carry out research on the fundamental and applied aspects of the physical, chemical and biological properties of soil; fertilizers, manures and their interaction with soil and plant. Its further is on improvement and maintenance of soil fertility for sustained optimum agricultural production; utilization of organic residues (wastes) as a manure and production of biogas as fuel. We also recommend test based fertilizers to the farmers.
- Agronomy: Students will have the basic knowledge and skills in Agronomy. Agronomy is the science and technology of producing and using plants in agriculture for food, fuel, fiber, and land restoration. It is both a humanitarian career and a scientific one. Agronomy has come to encompass work in the areas of plant genetics, plant physiology, meteorology, and soil science, the basis for adjusting some main crop management practices that could help to obtain good yields and quality product with an efficient use of environmental resources in a framework of sustainable production.
- Genetics and Plant Breeding: Students will have the basic knowledge and skills in crossing techniques, inheritance of qualitative and quantitative traits, quality factors, breeding methodology, breeding for disease and insect resistance, field screening and note taking, and special techniques.
- Herbal Garden: Keeping pace with the changing times in the field of medicinal plants, the Department maintains a Herbal Garden with several species of Medicinal Plants. The students get a first-hand experience regarding Identification of Medicinal Plants & herbs, with Cultivation & Collection techniques.
