Programme overview
B.Tech. In Cloud Technology and Information Security is a 4-year undergraduate course, split into eight semesters, each semester lasting a period of six months. The course is designed to educate candidates about internet-based computing where services like servers, storage and applications are delivered to client organizations. Bachelor of Technology in Cloud Technology is about making required services available at one click, which has been designed to train candidates about the techniques and methods for internet- based computing (i.e. Virtualization), where applications and services are accessed via the web. Cloud Computing is used to deliver personalized information, to provide data storage, to power large immersive online computer games, etc. where cloud infrastructure is maintained by the cloud provider, not the individual cloud customer. Students are educated about common cloud service models, basic technologies involved, the history of the cloud and its roots in service- oriented architecture. On the Cloud Technology front, the course will provide students with the fundamental knowledge of all aspects of Cloud Technology. The course focuses on Virtualization Technology, Cloud Technology, Datacenters, Networking and Operating Systems. On the Information Security front, this course equips the students with the concepts and the technical skills in Information Security. The focus of the course is on the development of models, tools and techniques for enforcement of Security Policies, with emphasis on Cryptography, Ethical Hacking, Computer Forensics and Virtualization and Cloud Security.
