Programme Overview
Bachelor of Public Health (BPH) is an undergraduate programme in the field of public health sciences. The duration of the programme is of 3 years inclusive of industrial visits, research projects and internship. A personality obsessed with health and well-being inspired to support others, and love research and education make an excellent candidate for a BPH programme. When considering a future in public health it is important to understand that scientific research and education are the backbones of the profession. The ability to conduct scientific research and translate it into accessible and understandable data is one of the highest qualities in public health. Many students use the BPH as a platform to continue their education in the field of medical, nursing, pharmacy or continue their education (Master’s Degree). In BPH the students also study human anatomy, diseases, and other relevant subjects like women’s health, child & adolescents’ health and nutrition. After completing the BPH programme, a student has the potential to work with public health organizations, in critical care, child-care, maternity care and nutrition consultant.
Programme Objectives
The Bachelor of Science of Public Health student will be able to:
- Assess individual and community needs, assets and capacity for health education
- Plan effective health education programs
- Implement effective health education programs
- Conduct evaluation and research related to health education
- Administer and manage health education programs
- Serve as a Health Education Resource Person
- Communicate and advocate for health and health education

- Assess individual and community needs for health Accessing existing health related data.
- Plan Health Education Strategies, Interventions, and Programs. Identify populations for health education programs.
- Implement Health Education Strategies, Interventions, and Programs.
- Develop plans for evaluation and research.
Career Path
Bachelor’s degrees in public health will provide an individual with extensive knowledge in the field of public health due to which there are various career options which the student can choose after successfully clearing the degree. In addition to working in healthcare organizations and government projects, students can also work with international organizations for public health services. An excellent way to use a Bachelor degree in public health is to join a local or state public health organization.

Eligibility Criteria
Intermediate (10+2) or its equivalent in PCB stream with a minimum of 50 % marks.
