Programme Overview

Indian medical educational institutions offer a host of paramedical programmes which include a B.Sc. in Dialysis Therapy. The programme has been designed to train and produce graduates who are capable of understanding and assisting specialists in the different treatment processes. The students are trained to use various machines for dialysis help in the treatment of patients. In many colleges, the programme is also known as B.Sc. in Dialysis Technology and is focused on training the students to assist in dialysis treatments of the patients. B.Sc. Dialysis Therapy is a three-year undergraduate programme, where each student will learn the different medical concepts of the kidney, principles of dialysis, dialysis systems and machines, blood chemistries, etc. As part of the programme, students are also expected to intern for a year in the field of dialysis as well. As per the curriculum followed by institutions in India, all graduates are required to gain one-year experience through an internship.

Programme Objectives

At the end of the programme, the student shall have obtained:

Adequate theoretical knowledge of the various forms of dialysis.
Knowledge of the indications, contraindications and complications of the procedures
Knowledge of the equipment used for dialysis
Information about the common diseases causing kidney failure and the clinical manifestations
An idea about the commonly used investigations for patients with kidney diseases
Perform hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, continuous renal replacement therapies and plasmapheresis.
Handle the equipment used for dialysis and water treatment plant and do their day to day maintenance.
Manage complications that may occur during the procedures mentioned above
Communicate effectively with patients and their relatives
To maintain a human touch always, integrating human touch with the modern methods of healing.
Maintain good relationship with professional colleagues. Avoid criticism of the measures taken by the colleagues, as medical practice is always a team work.

10+2 in Physics, Chemistry and Biology or its equivalent.
LEET:- The candidate who has passed in 3 years Diploma in relevant discipline after Matric or 2 years Diploma in relevant discipline after 10+2

For International Students

Rule framed by University Grants Commission (UGC) and notified in its website www.ugc.ac.in will be followed for deciding the eligibility and admission of International students to various courses offered in Om Sterling Global University, Hisar.
