World Student Day was commemorated with great pomp on Tuesday, October 15 to commemorate the birth anniversary of former President of India, late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, under the leadership of Om Sterling Global University’s Chancellor Dr. Puneet Goyal and Pro Chancellor Dr. Poonam Goyal. Students from many departments showcased their talents. The Chancellor and Pro Chancellor of the University encouraged the students, stating that they are the country’s future. Students have a vital part in the development of society and the nation, hence this day is devoted to them.
Dr. N.P. Kaushik, Vice Chancellor of the University, and Vice Chancellor Rajendra Singh Chhillar stated that on this day, students should promise to direct their energies in the best interests of the nation. The session introduced participants to inspirational anecdotes about Dr. Abdul Kalam’s life. On this day, as part of the cultural program, students from many countries and states studying at the institution demonstrated their cultures. These competitions featured a variety of presentations, including solo dance, group dance, drama, speech, poems, debate competitions, photography, and videography. The final presentation was significant because it effectively exhibited the culture of the country, as well as that of other countries and states, on a single platform. Students who performed well were given appropriate awards. This competition was judged by Deans Dr. Rakesh Dhiman and Dr. Sunil Bainda, with Dr. Renu Sharma, Dr. Neena Bhardwaj, and Dr. Kuldeep Dahiya overseeing the entire event. On this occasion, deans, teachers, and students from all university departments were present.
