OSGU Family donated 200 Units of Blood

On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, a blood donation camp was jointly organized by Om Medical Center and Amandeep Hospital at Om Sterling Global University on Thursday, October 10, under the supervision of Chancellor Dr. Puneet Goyal and Pro Chancellor Dr. Poonam Goyal of the University. The Chancellor and Pro Chancellor of the University addressed all the officials of Om Medical Center and Amandeep Hospital for this camp and wished them wholeheartedly for their efforts and endeavours for the improvement of health conditions of the people.He further said that blood donation is a great donation which can save the lives of many people. This camp was organized under the title “Help those who are in dire need of blood”. Highlighting the importance of World Mental Health Day, he said that mental stress has become a part of today’s hectic lifestyle and is creating negative consequences on people’s life. It can be effectively overcome by regular exercise and Yoga. The aim of this camp was to make the university teachers, students and the people residing nearby, aware of the importance and requirement of such blood donation camps . University Vice Chancellor Dr. NP Kaushik, Vice Chancellor Dr. Rajendra Singh Chhillar and Registrar Dr. Vinod Kumar also participated in this camp and encouraged all the participants with their valuable presence. They appealed everyone to keep themselves and their families healthy. They told that organizing such camps increases the awareness among people about blood donation. Along with this, he told that to avoid mental diseases and to get mental peace, people are adopting different methods like yoga, meditation and spiritual activities in their lives.
In this camp, Dr P D Chaudhary from Amandeep Hospital and the officials accompanying him played an important role by checking the blood of all the people and told the ways to keep themselves healthy. Alongwith this, a program was also organized to celebrate World Mental Health Day in the University Campus. The Director of this camp was Dr Rakesh Dhiman.
He told that about 200 units of blood has been donated by the university. Dean of Health Science Dr Sunaina, Dr Mohit Arora, Gaurav Bainiwal, Alka Saini, Radhe Solanki and Deepak Atkan played crucial role in making the program successful. In the last phase of the program, Speech and Poster Making Competitions were organized among the students. The winning participants were honored with prizes. Teachers of the Health Science Department of the University and students of Social, Health and Environment Club also played an important role in this camp. Deans and officials of all the departments of the university attended this camp with great enthusiasm.
