I am glad to welcome you in Om Sterling Global University (OSGU), Hisar – one of the premier institutes of higher learning and research. Higher Education in India is undergoing a remarkable transformation. OSGU attained the prestigious autonomous status and refurbished the curriculum and implemented major changes in the curriculum delivery to a very large extent. Now, the emphasis is on comprehensive and continuous learning rather than rote and exam oriented learning.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) is emphasizing on Outcome Based Education (OBE), rather than the traditional exam-centric, educational system which was followed in our country for centuries. In OBE, the real learning outcomes of students are measured in an objective manner, mainly to ensure that our higher education system is more accountable and quality-oriented. OSGU effectively implemented OBE throughout our curriculum in all schools of study and believe in continuous improvement of the academic endeavors.
The Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) adds a new dimension to academics for the students. The students can take up courses across disciplines and develop on their credits at the same time OSGU adopted CBCS and implemented very rigorously and effectively. Looking to Global Scenario, OSGU provides interdisciplinary knowledge to the students. The design of curriculum also take care the international students.
As COVID-19 continues spreading in whole of the world, how to keep learning in disruption has become a major challenge to the global education community. Covid-19 has forced Universities across India and the world indeed, to suspend physical classrooms and shift to online classes. OSGU has decided to take the lead so that the studies are not conceded, and students do not fall back on academics. They have decided to implement an online education system. During the COVID-19 outbreak, OSGU has launched the “Interrupted classes, Uninterrupted Learning (ICUL)” initiative, providing online education to all students from their homes.
Om Sterling Global University is exercising its and autonomy. We have ensured that a sizeable number of constructive changes have been made in the traditional curriculum to creating a word-class curriculum and a stimulating learning environment as well.
