The 38th AIU North-West Zone Youth Festival 2025, hosted by Om Sterling Global University (OSGU), Hisar, concluded with an awe-inspiring Grand Finale and Valedictory Ceremony on 12th February 2025. The festival, held over five days, saw a convergence of culture, creativity, and camaraderie, with students from

23 esteemed universities participating in various events. The festival served as a platform to highlight India’s rich cultural diversity and promote an environment that fosters creativity, artistic brilliance, and intellectual growth.

The Valedictory Ceremony marked the end of this prestigious festival, celebrating the hard work, dedication, and outstanding performances of students across multiple disciplines. The festival featured music, dance, theatre, fine arts, and literary events, each a testament to the immense talent and passion of India’s youth.

This festival was not merely a competition; it was a confluence of ideas, emotions, and aspirations. It provided a stage where young minds could express their artistic abilities, bringing out the best of their talent in a spirit of unity and cooperation. The diverse events enriched participants with life-long learning experiences and cross- cultural interactions.

Cultural Procession

The Cultural Procession witnessed participation from 22 universities. Maharishi Markandeshwar (Deemed to be University), Mullana-Ambala, secured the 1st position, followed by University of Kota, Rajasthan (2nd place) and Om Sterling Global University, Hisar, Haryana (3rd place). Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana, and Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan, secured the 4th and 5th positions, respectively, while Vivekananda Global University, Jaipur, Rajasthan, also shared the 5th position.

Music Events

The Music Events showcased a mesmerizing blend of Indian classical, folk, and Western musical traditions, with students from various universities competing across nine categories.

The Classical Vocal Solo (Hindustani/Karnatak) competition featured 13 universities with 13 participants, where Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan, emerged as the winner, followed by University of Delhi, Delhi, and Maharshi

 

Dayanand University, Rohtak, Haryana, securing the 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively. The 4th place was jointly shared by Apeejay Stya University, Gurugram, Haryana, and Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University, Ajmer, Rajasthan, while Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, claimed 5th place.

In the Classical Instrumental Solo (Percussion) category, which also had 13 universities competing, University of Delhi, Delhi, secured the 1st position, with Apeejay Stya University, Gurugram, Haryana, finishing as the 1st Runner-Up, and Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa, Haryana, earning 3rd place. The 4th place was taken by Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan, while Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana, finished in 5th place.

Similarly, in the Classical Instrumental Solo (Non-Percussion) category, with

13 participants, Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan, clinched the top position, followed by University of Delhi, Delhi (2nd place) and Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, Haryana (3rd place). Jai Narain Vyas University, Jodhpur, Rajasthan, finished 4th, while Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa, Haryana, and Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana, shared 5th place.

The Light Vocal (Indian) category saw participation from 18 universities, with Apeejay Stya University, Gurugram, Haryana, emerging as the winner, followed by Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan, and University of Delhi, Delhi, securing 2nd and 3rd places, respectively. Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana, took 4th place, while Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa, Haryana, secured 5th place.

The Western Vocal (Solo) competition, featuring 14 universities, was dominated by University of Delhi, Delhi, which claimed 1st place, while Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa, Haryana, and Indira Gandhi University, Meerpur, Rewari, Haryana, finished 2nd and 3rd, respectively. The 4th place was shared by Apeejay Stya University, Gurugram, Haryana, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, and Om Sterling Global University, Hisar, Haryana, while Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan, and Chaudhary Bansi Lal University, Bhiwani, Haryana, jointly secured 5th place.

In the Group Songs (Indian) category, which featured 15 universities and 87 participants, Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, Haryana, took the top spot, followed by Apeejay Stya University, Gurugram, Haryana (2nd place) and University of Delhi, Delhi (3rd place). Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan, finished in 4th place, while Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana, took 5th place.

Similarly, the Group Songs (Western) competition, with 11 universities and 65 participants, was won by Apeejay Stya University, Gurugram, Haryana, followed by Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar (2nd place) and Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa, Haryana (3rd place). Indira Gandhi University, Meerpur, Rewari, Haryana, secured 4th place, while Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan, took 5th place.

The Folk Orchestra event saw 10 universities and 86 participants, with Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa, Haryana, taking the 1st place, followed by Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan (2nd place) and Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana (3rd place). Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak,

In the Western Instrumental (Solo) category, which included 12 universities and 12 participants, University of Delhi, Delhi, dominated by securing 1st place, while Central University of Haryana, Mahendragarh, Haryana, and Apeejay Stya University, Gurugram, Haryana, finished 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan, earned 4th place, and Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana, claimed 5th place.

Overall Music Events Championship

The Overall Winner in Music Events was University of Delhi, Delhi, with Apeejay Stya University, Gurugram, Haryana, securing 1st Runner-Up and Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan, taking 2nd Runner-Up.

The Music Events provided a platform for students to showcase their vocal and instrumental talents across diverse genres, from Indian classical and folk traditions to contemporary Western styles. The performances captivated the audience with their technical brilliance, artistic expression, and heartfelt renditions, making the competition a grand success.

Dance Events

The Dance Events were a spectacular showcase of rhythm, grace, and cultural diversity, featuring two main categories: Folk/Tribal Dance and Classical Dance. These competitions saw enthusiastic participation from students who displayed remarkable skill, storytelling, and expressive movements, captivating the audience with their performances.

The Folk/Tribal Dance competition featured 15 participating universities and

141 participants, highlighting the vibrant traditional dance forms of India. Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa, Haryana, emerged as the winner, followed closely by Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan, which secured 2nd place. Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana, claimed the 3rd position, while Chaudhary Bansi Lal University, Bhiwani, Haryana, Indira Gandhi University, Meerpur, Rewari, Haryana, and University of Kota, Rajasthan, shared 4th place. The 5th place was jointly held by Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University, Ajmer, Rajasthan, and Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, Haryana. The performances in this category were an explosion of energy, featuring elaborate costumes, powerful footwork, and synchronized group choreography that brought India’s rich cultural heritage to life.

The Classical Dance competition saw participation from 11 universities, with students performing refined and deeply expressive classical Indian dance forms such as Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Odissi, Kuchipudi, and Mohiniyattam. Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan, took the 1st place, delivering an exceptional performance that showcased technical precision and emotive storytelling. Apeejay Stya University, Gurugram, Haryana, secured the 2nd position, followed by University of Delhi, Delhi, in 3rd place. Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa, Haryana, finished in 4th place, while Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, Haryana, claimed 5th place. Overall Dance Events Championship

The Overall Winner in Dance Events was Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan, which demonstrated exceptional talent across both categories. Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa, Haryana, secured the 1st Runner-Up position, while Apeejay Stya University, Gurugram, Haryana, and Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana, shared the 2nd Runner-Up position.

The Dance Events were a breathtaking display of artistry and cultural pride, with participants using movement, music, and expression to bring their performances to life. The competition not only celebrated India’s rich dance traditions but also provided a platform for students to exhibit their passion, dedication, and remarkable talent in dance.

Theatre Events

The Theatre Events were a dynamic and captivating showcase of dramatic talent, creativity, and storytelling. These competitions featured four categories: One-Act Play, Skit, Mime, and Mimicry, where students demonstrated their ability to engage audiences through powerful performances, expressive acting, and compelling narratives. The events saw intense competition, with universities delivering thought- provoking, humorous, and emotionally moving performances.

The One-Act Play competition had 14 participating universities and 122 participants, with Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, Haryana, emerging as the winner, showcasing an exceptional dramatic performance. Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana, secured 2nd place, followed by Indira Gandhi University, Meerpur, Rewari, Haryana, in 3rd place. The 4th place was shared by Chaudhary Bansi Lal University, Bhiwani, Haryana, and Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, while Om Sterling Global University, Hisar, Haryana, secured 5th place. The competition featured an impressive range of themes, from historical narratives to contemporary social issues, with teams effectively using stagecraft, dialogues, and expressive performances to bring their stories to life.

In the Skit competition, which included 14 universities and 83 participants, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana, delivered an outstanding act to claim 1st place, while Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, secured 2nd place, and Chaudhary Bansi Lal University, Bhiwani, Haryana, took 3rd place. Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Sonipat, Haryana, claimed 4th place, while Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa, Haryana, finished in 5th place. The performances in this category were filled with humor, satire, and engaging social commentary, leaving the audience entertained and reflective.

The Mime competition, featuring 13 universities and 78 participants, saw Maharishi Markandeshwar (Deemed to be University), Mullana-Ambala, take the 1st place, with Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa, Haryana, securing 2nd place. Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, finished in 3rd place, while Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana, and Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University, Ajmer, Rajasthan, took 4th and 5th

 

places, respectively. Mime performances were among the most visually engaging acts, relying entirely on body language, facial expressions, and silent storytelling to deliver compelling and often humorous messages.

The Mimicry competition, featuring 16 universities and 16 participants, was a delightful display of voice modulation and character imitation. Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana, impressed the judges to take 1st place, followed by Maharishi Markandeshwar (Deemed to be University), Mullana- Ambala, in 2nd place, and University of Delhi, Delhi, in 3rd place. Apeejay Stya University, Gurugram, Haryana, secured 4th place, while Om Sterling Global University, Hisar, Haryana, finished in 5th place. This category was filled with laughter and entertainment, as participants showcased their ability to mimic celebrities, politicians, and fictional characters with uncanny accuracy and comic timing.

Overall Theatre Events Championship

The Overall Winner in Theatre Events was Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana, which demonstrated outstanding performances across multiple categories. Literary Events

The Literary Events were a remarkable showcase of intellect, eloquence, and critical thinking, featuring three major competitions: Quiz, Elocution, and Debate. These events tested participants on their knowledge, articulation skills, and ability to construct persuasive arguments. The competitions attracted some of the brightest minds from various universities, engaging them in thought-provoking discussions and challenging knowledge-based rounds.

The Quiz competition, which had 17 participating universities and 51 participants, tested students on their proficiency in general knowledge, current affairs, history, science, literature, and logical reasoning. University of Delhi, Delhi, emerged as the winner, showcasing a remarkable grasp of diverse topics. Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi, secured 2nd place, followed by Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan, in 3rd place. Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, finished 4th, while Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana, claimed 5th place. The competition featured intense rounds, including rapid-fire and buzzer segments, where teams had to think quickly and strategically to outscore their rivals.

The Elocution competition, which saw participation from 19 universities and 19 participants, focused on the art of public speaking and effective communication. Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan, secured the 1st position, demonstrating exceptional clarity, confidence, and persuasive delivery. Chaudhary Bansi Lal University, Bhiwani, Haryana, claimed 2nd place, while Maharshi Dayanand

 

University, Rohtak, Haryana, finished in 3rd place. Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana, took 4th place, followed by University of Delhi, Delhi, in 5th place. The competition featured passionate speeches on various socio-political and philosophical topics, with participants captivating the audience through their structured arguments, expressive delivery, and engaging rhetoric.

The Debate competition, which involved 19 universities and 38 participants, was a thrilling battle of wits and perspectives. Participants debated on contemporary and thought-provoking topics, displaying exceptional research, logical reasoning, and rebuttal skills. Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan, emerged victorious, securing 1st place, while University of Delhi, Delhi, took 2nd place. Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana, finished in 3rd place, with Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, Haryana, taking 4th place, and Central University of Haryana, Mahendragarh, Haryana, securing 5th place. The debates were marked by articulate arguments, sharp counterpoints, and dynamic interactions between teams, making it one of the most engaging events of the competition.

Overall Literary Events Championship

The Overall Winner in Literary Events was Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan, which showcased excellence across all categories. University of Delhi, Delhi, was declared the 1st Runner-Up, followed by Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi, as the 2nd Runner-Up.

The Literary Events provided a platform for students to showcase their intellectual abilities, communication skills, and critical thinking. Whether it was answering challenging quiz questions, delivering powerful speeches, or engaging in intense debates, participants exhibited remarkable talent and enthusiasm. The competition not only celebrated knowledge and rhetoric but also encouraged meaningful discussions on important issues, making it an intellectually enriching experience.

Fine Arts Events

The Fine Arts Events were a vibrant and expressive showcase of artistic talent, featuring nine categories that tested participants’ creativity, precision, and conceptual thinking. These competitions provided a platform for students to demonstrate their skills in painting, collage, clay modeling, cartooning, and various other art forms. The artistic expressions ranged from traditional to contemporary, with participants crafting visually stunning and thought-provoking works.

The On-the-Spot Painting competition, featuring 20 universities and 20 participants, challenged artists to create impactful artwork within a limited timeframe. Apeejay Stya University, Gurugram, Haryana, secured 1st place, followed by University of Delhi, Delhi (2nd place) and Om Sterling Global University, Hisar, Haryana (3rd place). Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, Haryana, took 4th place, while Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa, Haryana, and Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, shared 5th place. The artists demonstrated their ability to transform themes into visually compelling compositions with intricate details and creative interpretations.

The Collage competition, with 17 universities participating, required students to craft artistic compositions using a mix of cut-outs, textures, and colors. Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan, won 1st place, while Om Sterling Global University,

 

Hisar, Haryana, and Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana, secured 2nd and 3rd places, respectively. Chaudhary Bansi Lal University, Bhiwani, Haryana, and University of Delhi, Delhi, shared 4th place, while Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Sonipat, Haryana, finished in 5th place.

The Poster Making competition, with 19 universities participating, tested students’ ability to communicate powerful messages through design and visuals. Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, Haryana, emerged as the winner, followed by Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa, Haryana (2nd place) and Apeejay Stya University, Gurugram, Haryana (3rd place). Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan, secured 4th place, while Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana, claimed 5th place. The posters displayed themes of social awareness, environmental concerns, and cultural heritage, making this category an engaging one.

The Clay Modelling competition, which involved 14 universities, saw participants sculpt intricate and imaginative three-dimensional models. Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, Haryana, won 1st place, followed by Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana (2nd place) and Om Sterling Global University, Hisar, Haryana (3rd place). Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan, took 4th place, while Apeejay Stya University, Gurugram, Haryana, and Maharishi Markandeshwar (Deemed to be University), Mullana-Ambala, shared 5th place.

The Cartooning competition, with 16 participating universities, showcased humor, satire, and creative illustrations. Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa, Haryana, took 1st place, followed by Om Sterling Global University, Hisar, Haryana (2nd place) and University of Delhi, Delhi (3rd place). Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana, finished in 4th place, while Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, Haryana, secured 5th place. The participants skillfully used humor and caricature techniques to highlight contemporary issues.

The Rangoli competition, with 17 universities competing, brought colorful and intricate floor art to life. Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan, claimed 1st place, followed by Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana (2nd place) and Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, Haryana (3rd place). Indira Gandhi University, Meerpur, Rewari, Haryana, took 4th place, while Chaudhary Bansi Lal University, Bhiwani, Haryana, secured 5th place. Participants used traditional and modern Rangoli patterns to create vibrant and culturally rich designs.

The Spot Photography competition, which had 19 universities participating, tested students’ ability to capture powerful moments and visually compelling compositions. University of Delhi, Delhi, secured 1st place, while University of Kota, Rajasthan, and Chaudhary Bansi Lal University, Bhiwani, Haryana, took 2nd and 3rd places, respectively. Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University, Ajmer, Rajasthan, claimed 4th place, while Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa, Haryana, and Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University, Jind, Haryana, shared 5th place. The photographs presented a mix of landscapes, portraits, and conceptual imagery, reflecting the photographers’ artistic perspectives.

The Installation competition, which featured 13 universities and 52 participants, challenged students to create large-scale three-dimensional art installations using mixed media. Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan, took 1st place,

 

followed by Maharishi Markandeshwar (Deemed to be University), Mullana- Ambala (2nd place) and Indira Gandhi University, Meerpur, Rewari, Haryana (3rd place). Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa, Haryana, finished in 4th place, while G D Goenka University, Gurgaon, Haryana, secured 5th place. The installations were highly conceptual and innovative, using diverse materials to convey deep artistic messages.

The Mehandi competition, with 18 participating universities, showcased intricate henna designs, blending traditional and modern patterns. Vivekananda Global University, Jaipur, Rajasthan, secured 1st place, while Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa, Haryana (2nd place) and Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Sonipat, Haryana (3rd place) followed. Apeejay Stya University, Gurugram, Haryana, and Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana, shared 4th place, while Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, Haryana, secured 5th place.

The Overall Winner in Fine Arts Events was Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan, demonstrating outstanding performances across multiple categories.
