School of Agriculture, Om Sterling Global University celebrated National Farmers’ Day (KISAN DIWAS) on 23 December 2021. Besides paying rich tributes to former Prime Minister Shri Chaudhary Charan Singh, the Academy celebrated the auspicious day with the theme “KISAN DIWAS CUM ART EXHIBITION The celebrations aimed to create awareness among young girls and boys on the importance of farmers and farming for a healthy and prosperous nation, and to inspire them to take up agriculture as a career option.

“If the farmer is rich, then so is the nation.”

It is well said that a farmer is a magician who produces money from the mud. In order to pay tribute and give respect to our nation’s farmers, Kisan Diwas is celebrated on 23rd December every year.

On this occasion, school of agriculture, Om sterling global university organized various activities through offline and virtual platforms.

 

INTRODUCTION

Farmer day was celebrated in Om Sterling Global University on this occasion honorable chief Guest was Dr. KS Khokhar  (Ex vice – chancellor HAU),Dr. Prashant (Senior Scientist ) in Japan , Neno university and Dr.O.P Nehra (HAU) , University ‘s Chancellor Dr.Punit Goyal gave speech and motivate Farmers . Dr. Khokhar remembered Ex-PM Chaudhary Charan Singh in his speech and described him as ideal of Farmers. He also discussed some main points on Technologies and Researches. In this Program more than 30 Farmers was Participated. These Farmers also awarded on their achievements. On this occasion University “s Vice chancellor Dr. N.P Kaushik, Pro Vice chancellor Dr. Ajay Kumar Podar, Registrar, Dr. Vinod Kumar, Dr. Vikas Bishnoi , Adv Neeraj Taneja , Dr. Renu Sharma, Dr Beena Dixit and  other faculty were also Present. The School of Agriculture organized the Art exhibition on the day of Kisan Diwas. In this project Explosure student was gave message to farmer agriculture field is the biggest sector in India. It is commonly knowledge that students of Agriculture utilize their knowledge in Practical Farming. They were also discussed success stories in Maharashtra and Punjab, where agriculture students taken up Farming and are using proper seeds, machinery and agro management techniques. The student of Agriculture should also exhibit about profitable farming techniques and systems so that less land and resources are used. They should taught about Integrated Farming  system by the help of model of IFS under the supervision of Mr. Amanpreet Singh Sran, They were also discussed about benefit of  hydroponic and Green house, Polyhouse by the help of different models under guidance of Mr. Muliniti Yousuf. As we know “Water is Life don’t waste it”, so student were also gave message about “Drip Irrigation” by the help of model and along with also aware about How to utilize the Waste in Agriculture by the help of Vertical garden, those waste were used for decoration purpose  under the supervision of Ms.silky Bains. The government scheme protects Farmer against fluctuation in Prices, revenues and yield, so students were aware to farmer about latest scheme and Programmers’ launch by the Govt of India under the guidance of Dr. Amit Kumar Singh and many other project exhibits by Students. Exhibition of Art Posters on farmers was the most attractive part of the event presented by School of Performing and Fine Arts under the guidance of Dean, Dr. Beena Dixit.
