Om Sterling Global University organised an enlightening session on the occasion of World Pharmacist Day under the guidance of the Chancellor Dr. Puneet Goyal and Pro Chancellor Dr. Poonam Goyal. They congratulated the students of the health sector on this day. More than 20 Pharmacists from Haryana state were invited to attend the programme at the university campus. The students of the new session 2024-25 were welcomed on joining the university. The Chancellor elevated the students’ confidence for entering a profession where service and personal sacrifice highly valued. He further informed that World Pharmacist Day is celebrated on 25 September across the world under a new theme every year and this year the theme of the World Pharmacist Day is Pharmacist: Meeting Global Health Needs.
The program started with Saraswati Vandana. As per the tradition of OSGU, the guests and all the pharmacists were welcomed and were offered a plant and a memento. The Chief Guest of the program, Vice Chancellor Dr. N.P. Kaushik motivated the students and stated that the White Coat Ceremony is not just a ritual but an opportunity for the students to understand their future career and professional responsibilities. Along with this, Vice Chancellor of OSGU Professor Dr. Rajendra Singh Chhillar participated in the program as a special guest. He shared his experiences to encourage the students and made them aware of the new opportunities coming for the students in the medical field. The Vice Chancellor and Pro Vice Chancellor of the University wished the students a bright future and advised them to perform their duties with devotion. More than 250 students of the new session were given white coats and were sworn in to maintain the ethics of the medical profession. The students of Bachelor of Pharmacy and Bachelor of Health Sciences started a new career. The pharmacy students showed special interest in the programme and gave various types of cultural presentations. All the Deans and Incharges of the university were present on this occasion. The programme was conducted by Dr. Deepa Khanna, Dr. Hitesh Kumar School of Pharmacy and Dr. Sunena, Health Sciences Department. The stage was conducted by Advocate Neeraj Taneja.
