Om Sterling Global University (OSGU), Hisar, celebrated International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm by organizing grand yoga camps at four different locations under the aegis of its School of Yoga and Naturopathy. The event, held on Sunday, June 21, 2026, was based on the theme “Yoga for Healthy Living” and witnessed active participation from students, faculty members, and the general public.
According to the university administration, the yoga sessions were conducted from 6:00 AM to 7:30 AM simultaneously at multiple venues, including the OSGU Campus, Yogshala Ground, Mandi Barwala, Arya Boys Senior Secondary School, Narwana, and Arya Samaj Mandir, Arya Girls Senior Secondary School, Hansi.
The camps aimed to create awareness about the significance of yoga in achieving physical fitness, mental well-being, and a balanced lifestyle. Participants enthusiastically performed various yoga asanas, pranayama, and meditation exercises under the expert guidance of trained yoga professionals from the university.
In their message on the occasion, Dr. Puneet Goyal, Chancellor, OSGU, and Dr. Poonam Goyal, Pro-Chancellor, OSGU, emphasized the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life. They stated that in today’s fast-paced and stressful environment, yoga has become essential for maintaining mental peace and physical health.
“Yoga is a holistic approach to healthy living. It not only strengthens the body but also nurtures mental and emotional well-being. OSGU has always been committed to promoting health and wellness in society,” they said.
Highlighting the objectives of the initiative, the university leadership noted that the primary aim of organizing the camps was to encourage people to adopt yoga as a way of life and to spread awareness about the benefits of regular yoga practice.
Addressing the participants, Dr. Ajay Kumar Poddar, Group COO & Provost, and Dr. N. P. Kaushik, Vice-Chancellor, remarked that yoga instills discipline, self-control, and inner harmony—qualities that are essential for students and citizens alike.
The sessions included demonstrations and practice of various yoga postures, breathing techniques, and meditation exercises. The programmes were conducted under the supervision of experienced yoga experts and received an overwhelming response at all locations.
Several senior officials and dignitaries of the university were present during the events. The university administration expressed gratitude to all participants, faculty members, organizers, and support staff for making the International Yoga Day celebrations a resounding success.
