Programme Overview
Masters of Pharmacy in Pharmaceutics is a two-year postgraduate course in the field of Pharmacy. M. Pharm in Pharmaceutics is one of the specializations of the M. Pharmacy Course. The subject highlights the study of drugs. It deals with the process of turning a new chemical entity (NCE) or old drugs into a medication to be used safely and effectively by patients. Basically it is the science of dosage form design.
Candidates get to know about different drug formulations manufacturing of drugs, research in formulations and drug regulatory affairs. It provides fundamental knowledge and skills to enable them to work with the pace to ensure the quality in the preclinical testing of drugs along with their safe and effective use of pharmaceuticals in the society and pharmaceutical industry. Students engage in in-depth studies of drug mechanisms, kinetics, and dynamics. Practical experience is gained through experimental work allowing students to design and conduct experiments to assess the effects of drugs.
Programme Objectives
To impart knowledge, develop skills and competencies in students in pharmaceutical sciences with a thrust of formulation and standardization of drugs.

Programme Outcomes
Students after completion of the course
- Will be able to utilize basic knowledge of Pharmaceutical sciences associated with the profession of Pharmacy
- They could understand behavioral, social, administrative, good manufacturing practices related to Pharmaceuticals.
- Will be able to know about Pharmacokinetic, Pharmacodynamics and regulatory aspects of drugs
- Will be able to know drug discovery, its metabolism, critical analysis of drug, and approval of drugs for safe use of pharmaceuticals.
- Will be able to analyze the problem to address issues at professional care practice along with understanding, analysis and communicating the value of their professional roles in society.
- Will be able to converse, write, interpret and interact effectively and scientifically for efficient professional practice.
- Will be able to Communicate effectively with the pharmacy community and with society at large, make effective documentation contributing in manufacturing, quality control and quality assurance of Pharmaceuticals
- Will be able to assimilate modern approaches to quality professional practice in the field of Pharmacy.
Career Path
Production and Manufacturing: A student can work in Production department after M.Pharm, where he will be involved with actual manufacturing of different herbal dosage forms

- Career in Regulatory Bodies: A Pharmacist can be absorbed in the Regulatory bodies with special divisions dealing with manufacturing/ licensing of drugs. He/she can work as an inspector to inspect pharmacy shops.
- Research and Development: A student with M. Pharmacy degree can enter in R & D field, where he/she will be working with invention and formulation of new drug delivery systems for drugs as Research Associate
- Assistant Professor: A student can also make his/her career in academics. In pharmacy institutions they are eligible to work as assistant professor for bachelor students.
- Sales and Marketing: Students, with M. Pharm. degree, can also work as Product Manager in Pharma/herbal industries.
- Medical Transcriptionist: A student can also work as medical Transcriptionist
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum percentage and others criteria for admission will be as per UGC/ Concerned Regulatory Bodies.
Provided below are the criteria that need to be met for the given course.
For National Students
- B. Pharm Degree examination of an Indian university established by law in India from an institution approved by Pharmacy Council of India and has scored not less than 55 % of the maximum marks (aggregate of 4 years of B.Pharm.)
For International Students
- Rule framed by University Grants Commission (UGC) and notified in its website www.ugc.ac.in will be followed for deciding the eligibility and admission of International students to various courses offered in Om Sterling Global University, Hisar.
