Programme Overview

The M.Sc. in Health Information Management at the School of Health Sciences, Om Sterling Global University, Hisar, is designed to develop foundational knowledge and supervised, practice-oriented competencies in students to health information management, focusing on the organization, quality, confidentiality and appropriate use of healthcare information. Learning is intended to integrate theoretical instruction, practical skill development, professional values, patient safety, ethical practice and supervised clinical or field exposure, as applicable to the approved curriculum. The duration is 2 years (including 6 months of project work).

Explain health-record workflows, information governance and the role of health information services.
Apply accurate documentation, data-quality, classification and information-handling procedures appropriate to training.
Protect privacy and confidentiality and follow applicable health-information security and data-governance procedures.

Programme Outcomes

On successful completion, graduates are expected to demonstrate the knowledge, practical skills, professional values and attitudes specified in the approved curriculum for Health Information Management; perform assigned tasks safely and accurately within their education, demonstrated competence and authorised scope of practice; communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams; maintain complete and confidential records; follow infection prevention, quality assurance and patient-safety procedures; and practise ethically and collaboratively.
