Programme Overview

The Diploma in Medical Secretarial Transcription at the School of Health Sciences, Om Sterling Global University, Hisar, is designed to develop foundational knowledge and supervised, practice-oriented competencies in students to medical documentation and transcription, focusing on accurate healthcare records, terminology, communication and information handling. Learning is intended to integrate theoretical instruction, practical skill development, professional values, patient safety, ethical practice and supervised clinical or field exposure, as applicable to the approved curriculum. The duration is 2.5 years (including 6 months internship).

Programme Objectives

The programme aims to:

Explain the principles, indications and workflow of ECG and echocardiography procedures.
Demonstrate patient preparation, recording support, equipment care and accurate documentation.
Follow patient-identification, safety, infection-prevention and professional-conduct requirements.

Programme Outcomes

On successful completion, graduates are expected to demonstrate the knowledge, practical skills, professional values and attitudes specified in the approved curriculum for ECG & Echo Technology; perform assigned tasks safely and accurately within their education, demonstrated competence and authorised scope of practice; communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams; maintain complete and confidential records; follow infection prevention, quality assurance and patient-safety procedures; and practise ethically and collaboratively.
