Programme Overview

The Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science at the School of Health Sciences, Om Sterling Global University, Hisar, is designed to develop foundational knowledge and supervised, practice-oriented competencies in students to medical laboratory science, including the role of laboratory investigations in supporting clinical assessment and patient care. Learning is intended to integrate theoretical instruction, practical skill development, professional values, patient safety, ethical practice and supervised clinical or field exposure, as applicable to the approved curriculum. The duration is 4 years (including 1 year internship).

Programme Objectives

The Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science, is a programme offered by OSGU that is drafted with the following objectives:

Explain core laboratory principles and demonstrate safe, supervised practices in specimen handling, testing workflows, quality assurance and documentation.
Apply specimen identification, handling, documentation and quality-control procedures accurately under appropriate supervision.
Demonstrate ethical conduct, biosafety, confidentiality and effective teamwork in laboratory settings.

Programme Outcomes

On successful completion, graduates are expected to demonstrate the knowledge, practical skills, professional values and attitudes specified in the approved curriculum for Medical Laboratory Science; perform assigned tasks safely and accurately within their education, demonstrated competence and authorised scope of practice; communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams; maintain complete and confidential records; follow infection prevention, quality assurance and patient-safety procedures; and practise ethically and collaboratively.

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum percentage and others criteria for admission will be as per UGC/ Concerned Regulatory Bodies (National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Profession).

Essential Document required: Medical fitness certificate by govt. medical officer at the time of admission.

The eligibility criteria for all programs for international applicants are a minimum 50% in the qualifying examination and having studied the pre-requisite subjects for admission in to the desired program.
