Programme Overview

The Bachelor of Emergency Medical Technology (Paramedic) at the School of Health Sciences, Om Sterling Global University, Hisar, is designed to develop foundational knowledge and supervised, practice-oriented competencies in students to emergency medical technology, focusing on timely assistance, patient assessment support, basic emergency response and coordinated care. Learning is intended to integrate theoretical instruction, practical skill development, professional values, patient safety, ethical practice and supervised clinical or field exposure, as applicable to the approved curriculum. The duration is 4 years (including 1 year internship).

Programme Objectives

The programme aims to:

Explain emergency-care principles and demonstrate supervised support for structured patient assessment and initial response.
Use clear communication, teamwork and safe patient-handling practices in simulated or supervised settings.
Follow approved triage support, documentation, referral and escalation protocols within the assigned role.

Programme Outcomes

On successful completion, graduates are expected to demonstrate the knowledge, practical skills, professional values and attitudes specified in the approved curriculum for Emergency Medical Technology (Paramedic); perform assigned tasks safely and accurately within their education, demonstrated competence and authorised scope of practice; communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams; maintain complete and confidential records; follow infection prevention, quality assurance and patient-safety procedures; and practise ethically and collaboratively.
