Programme overview
The Bachelor of Computer Applications (Honours/Honours with Research) in Cyber Security is a four-year undergraduate programme designed in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 to develop highly skilled professionals capable of protecting digital assets, information systems, and critical infrastructure from emerging cyber threats. The programme combines a strong foundation in computer science with specialized knowledge in cyber security, ethical hacking, digital forensics, secure software development, cloud security, network security, cryptography, cyber laws, threat intelligence, and artificial intelligence for cyber defence.
The curriculum follows an outcome-based and multidisciplinary approach, integrating theoretical concepts with extensive hands-on learning through cyber security laboratories, live projects, simulations, internships, hackathons, industry certifications, and research-oriented activities. Students gain practical experience using modern security tools, vulnerability assessment techniques, penetration testing methodologies, security operations centre (SOC) practices, and incident response frameworks. The Honours with Research pathway enables academically motivated students to undertake advanced research, publish scholarly work, and contribute to innovative solutions in the field of cyber security.
