Site Profile: –

The Rakhi Garhi known as an ancient archeological site enfolds considerable significance for the students of SSH, SYN and SPF.  Dating back to 5000 years old, the civilization has many artifacts and other bronze items discovered in the recent times. There are human skeletons and other valuable belongings put in the Museum. The civilization is currently studied in our History subject. So the students will have a direct insight into their subject by visiting the place.

The industrial visit to Rakhigarhi, located in Hisar district of Haryana, was conducted to provide students with practical exposure to archaeological research, heritage conservation practices, and scientific excavation methods. Rakhigarhi is one of the largest and most prominent sites of the Indus Valley Civilization (Harappan Civilization), dating back to 2600–1900 BCE.
The visit helped students connect classroom learning with real-world applications in archaeology, sociology, anthropology, and heritage management.

  • To understand interdisciplinary approaches
  • To develop awareness about heritage conservation

Report

An industrial tour of SSH, SPF and SYN was jointly organised on 14th Nov 2025. there were total 39 students from all these schools. The three teachers alongwith one female staff accompanied this tour to Rakhigarhi (Hisar). the bus left from the campus at 10:00 am and got at the destination around 11:00 am. After that the students were briefed about this ancient and archaeological site dating back to 5000 years.

There were mound number 1,2,3 and 4 that the student and staff visited. They also contacted the local people about the ruins that have been unknowingly obscure and destroyed by the farmers around the main sites.  It was marvellous to sees the ancient civilisational residues  including pottery bricks, beads, bangles etc.

It was amazing experience to see the human skeletons and other artifacts in the store. The student develop a great insight into their subjects by visualizing the life of ancient people.

The other two mounds are under the excavation process. It is likely that the further excavation good reveal and uncover our lost civilization more explicitly. The students looked very curious and felt interest. They took photos of this wonderful site and discussed it warmly.

The tour also has student and staff photographs at this site. There are several photos if required for the official purpose.

By and large it has been a successful industrial tour. The student expressed their desire to arrange such educational tour in future also.
