Northern Region Farm Machinery Training and Testing Institute (NRFMTTI) in Hisar, Haryana. . The Northern Region Farm Machinery Training and Testing Institute (NRFMTTI) established in 1986 is a premier government institute under the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India. It is dedicated to the development, testing, and training in the field of farm machinery and equipment for the agricultural sector. The institute plays a vital role in promoting the use of modern agricultural technologies and machinery, which are essential for improving productivity and sustainability in farming practices across India.
Objective: –
- To expose students to various types of agricultural machinery used in modern farming.
- To familiarize students with the principles and technology behind farm machinery.
- To enhance students’ understanding of how farm machinery impacts agricultural productivity and sustainability.
- To attend a training session on the operation and maintenance of farm machinery.

On 11th November 2023, a group of 40 students from the 2nd and 3rd year B.Sc. Agriculture program visited the Northern Region Farm Machinery Training and Testing Institute (NRFMTTI) in Hisar, Haryana. The visit was organized as part of an educational initiative to provide students with practical exposure to the latest machinery and technologies used in agricultural practices. The students were able to examine the machinery closely, learning about their specifications, functions, and benefits. Experts at the institute explained how these machines have transformed traditional farming practices, improving efficiency and crop yields while reducing human labor and dependency on weather conditions. The session was highly interactive, and students had the opportunity to ask questions and gain practical knowledge that could be applied during their fieldwork or future careers in agriculture.
