Objectives of the Visit

The primary objectives of the educational visit to Maharaja Agrasen Medical College were:

  1. Practical Exposure: To provide students with real-time exposure to medical, forensic, and anatomical facilities, extending their knowledge beyond traditional classroom learning.
  2. Understanding Medical and Forensic Practices: To familiarize students with medical museum specimens, preserved viscera, pathological samples, and anatomical structures, enhancing their understanding of anatomy and forensic science.
  3. Mortuary and Post-Mortem Procedures: To offer an insight into the functioning of a mortuary, covering post-mortem procedures, medico-legal documentation, preservation techniques, and ethical considerations.
  4. Interaction with Medical Professionals: To provide students the opportunity to interact with experienced faculty and medical professionals to gain insights into the practical aspects of forensic medicine, anatomy, and medico-legal practices.

Report of the Visit

On 19 November 2025, 69 students from Om Sterling Global University, accompanied by faculty members from the Departments of Forensic Science, Life sciences and Zoology, visited Maharaja Agrasen Medical College, Agroha. The visit lasted from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM and included several academic and practical sessions.

Upon arrival at Maharaja Agrasen Medical College, the students were warmly welcomed by the college authorities and faculty members, who provided a brief orientation on the day’s schedule, safety guidelines, and visit objectives. The day began with an engaging lecture on forensic medicine, delivered by Dr. Manmohan and Dr. Manoj Bansal, covering key topics such as the fundamentals of forensic medicine, medico-legal significance of post-mortem examinations, preservation and examination of human viscera, and ethical considerations in medico-legal work. The session was interactive, allowing students to participate in discussions and deepen their understanding of forensic practices. Following the lecture, students visited the Anatomy and Natural Science Museum, where they observed various skeletal remains, preserved reptiles, historical medico-legal weapons, and comparative anatomy specimens. This part of the visit provided them with valuable insight into biological and forensic exhibits. The students also explored the Viscera and Pathology Room, where they observed preserved human organs, pathological specimens, and forensic evidence related to disease conditions, congenital abnormalities, trauma, and poisoning. This hands-on experience enhanced their understanding of human anatomy and pathology. The visit concluded with a tour of the mortuary, where students learned about the structure and functioning of modern mortuaries, the post-mortem examination process, methods of body preservation, and ethical standards in handling deceased individuals. Faculty members emphasized the importance of accuracy, confidentiality, and respect in medico-legal work, reinforcing the professional ethics essential in forensic medicine.

The visit yielded significant learning outcomes for the students:
