The three years Integrated B.Ed. – M.Ed. programme has been developed to prepare the professional teacher committed to serve in the field of disability rehabilitation. The programme combines theory and practical along with internship to inculcate the philosophy of inclusive education and encourage professional teachers to upgrade their knowledge and skill further. It will provide an essential foundation to equip any professional teacher with the knowledge, competences, skills, attitudes, awareness and confidence required to teach children in general and special education classrooms and to prepare professionals with integrated ability for curriculum and instructional planning, educational management, research and human resource development.

Programme Objectives

Integrated B.Ed. – M.Ed. (I.D) is diploma program at OSGU’s School of Teacher Education has the following program objectives

Acquire knowledge & skills about human development, contemporary Indian education, and pedagogy of various school subjects and assessment for learning.
Acquire knowledge & skills about nature and educational needs of children with disabilities.
Acquire knowledge & skills about nature and educational needs of children with Specific Learning Disability
Develop conceptual understanding of education provisions and skills for working with children with various disabilities in Special and inclusive settings.

Programme Outcomes

Identification of various disabilities and their associated condition
Learn guidance and counselling techniques about various legislations and policies of State and Central Governments.
Assessment and identification of learners with intellectual disability
Interventional strategies of addressing learning styles and preferences.
Create awareness towards disability to throw out the disability from India.
Assist teacher educators to exert leadership in advocating and meeting educational needs of children with disabilities in various settings
Offer teacher educators the opportunity to develop specialized capacity for leadership in curriculum, pedagogy and universal design to teach in inclusive classroom.

Career Path

The course has been designed to train the teachers to teach students who are differently-abled or physically challenged. Through the course, the teachers are given theoretical and practical knowledge in terms of teaching skills methodologies, teaching pedagogy, and other skills. Through this course, the candidates can pursue their education in any of the specializations including locomotors disability, low vision, hearing impairment, visual impairment, learning disability, deaf blindness, autism, spectrum disorder, multiple disabilities and other differently challenged specialization.

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum percentage and others criteria for admission will be as per UGC/ Concerned Regulatory Bodies.

Provided below are the criteria that need to be met for the given course.

For National Students

Atleast 50% marks either in the Bachelors Degree and/or in the Masters degree in Sciences/ Social Sciences/ Humanities,
Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55 % marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the programme.
The reservation and relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD and other categories shall be as per the rules of the Central Government/ State Government, whichever is applicable.

For International Students

Rule framed by University Grants Commission (UGC) and notified in its website www.ugc.ac.in will be followed for deciding the eligibility and admission of International students to various courses offered in Om Sterling Global University, Hisar.
