To foster innovation and research excellence, OSGU regularly conducts Research & Innovation Programs, where students showcase unique ideas and research-driven projects. These events encourage students to think critically, develop problem-solving skills, and explore real-world forensic challenges through experimental studies and innovative methodologies. By cultivating a research-oriented mindset, we empower students to contribute to scientific advancements, making them future leaders in forensic science and investigation. Furthermore, OSGU offers internship opportunities for final-year students in government forensic laboratories, providing first-hand exposure to real forensic casework and crime analysis. These internships enable students to apply their academic knowledge in professional forensic settings, enhancing their practical skills, investigative techniques, and career prospects in forensic science.

With a career-focused curriculum, strong industry collaborations, and real-world case studies, we prepare students for roles in law enforcement, forensic labs, cyber security, and research.

Career opportunities

Graduates of B.Sc. & M.Sc. Forensic Science from OSGU have diverse career prospects across government and private sectors, contributing to law enforcement, research, and security. They can work in government forensic laboratories (CFSLs, SFSLs, RFSLs) as a SSA (Senior Scientific Assistant, SSO (Senior Scientific Officer), assisting in crime investigations through DNA profiling, toxicology, and forensic analysis. Law enforcement agencies, including police departments, crime investigation units, and intelligence agencies, rely on forensic experts for criminal case resolution. The growing field of cyber forensics and digital investigation offers opportunities in cybercrime units, IT security firms, and digital fraud detection. Graduates can also serve as expert witnesses and consultants in courts, legal firms, and investigative agencies, ensuring forensic evidence plays a crucial role in justice. Those passionate about research and development can contribute to forensic research institutions, pharmaceutical labs, and academic institutions, while private detective agencies and insurance firms seek forensic professionals for fraud investigations and claim verifications. Additionally, forensic experts play a key role in disaster victim identification (DVI), humanitarian services, and forensic anthropology. The academic sector also provides opportunities for teaching and training future forensic professionals.
