About the Programme

Optometry is a healthcare profession that is autonomous, educated, and regulated (licensed/registered), and optometrists are the primary healthcare practitioners of the eye and visual system who provide comprehensive eye and vision care, which includes refraction and dispensing, detection/diagnosis and management of disease in the eye, and the rehabilitation of conditions of the visual system.

The objective of Diploma in Vocational Sciences (Optometry) program is to impart hands on skills and training in examination, diagnosis and management diseases affecting the human visual system.

Why Diploma in Optometry?

The Diploma in Vocational Sciences -Optometry program will equip the students with the fundamental understanding and skills of diagnosis, therapeutic and prophylactic aspects of diseases related to the ophthalmic system. They can pursue their career as optometrists or technicians in the hospitals and health organizations dealing with surgical eye care, diagnosis and treatment of eye, plastic surgery.
